AHC: more formal clothing etiquette in the west

I've often noticed that prior to the 1960s, in the west there were very formal clothing etiquette compared to today. Men were expected to wear suit and tie even when strolling outside or running routine errands, while women wore dress. Today these are only acceptable in business meetings and official occasions.

So your challenge is to maintain that practice to this day. Most likely, the upheaval of the 60s still occurs due to the youth bulge.

Goes without saying, no nukes or other Draka events.

To drift away from the actual question, as someone who despises ties and tight collars I'm fairly happy with the way things are. Still there are times, say visiting Walmart in mid-summer, I feel a twinge of regret, as I think "you know, there were medieval peasants who dressed more elegantly than this." :D
