AHC: More “Haussmann” Cities

I don’t know if that is the ideal way to pose the question, but here goes:

Haussmann was an architect whose chief work was probably his renovation of Paris, financed by the Second French Empire. It was a massively expensive project, and many would say that it eventually did more harm than good, but it resulted in much of Paris as we know it today, at least from my rather limited knowledge, that’s what I think the facts were.

Could more cities have undergone the same treatment? Now, I’m sure many did IOTL, but I’d like to restrict it to these parameters: it has to be successful(open ended of course, so you decide that), and it has to be at some point after the Congress of Vienna and before the Declaration Of WW2, Im guessing however that a 19th century PoD is necessary. So, can you think of any other cities that could have undergone such huge renovations?

If the US moves the capital out of DC in the post Civil War era, then that city (the most likely choices are St. Louis or Cincinatti) will get a huge renovation. Would be interesting to see what style they get rebuilt in.
