AHC: Mongols restore Ayyubids to Egypt

In the mid-13th century the Ayyubids still existed but had been pushed to Syria by the Mamluks who established their sultanate in Cairo. Ayyubids were weakened and defeated by the Mongols, but some Ayyubid emirs sided with the Mongols, which ultimately led to their discredit and decline when the Mongols failed to conquer Palestine and Egypt.

However, if the Mongols did conquer Egypt, is there any way that the Ayyubids could have negotiated their way back into power or performed a coup d'etat in Cairo? If so what would the historical significance be, for a restoration of the dynasty of Saladin, for a Mongol puppet state not ruled directly by Mongols, and for the absence of the Mamluk state?
