The challenge- with any PoD after 600 AD having Vikings set up a "Norman" dukedom extending as far as Soissons, Paris and Orleans and covering most French territory north of the Loire.

Wouldn't the logical territory be to conquer Brittany since that was actually held to some degree or another by the Normans/Vikings at one point? I mean, if they take Paris, then they might as well become Kings of France which means the "Normandy" territory will be likewise reduced.

What about the Sicilian Kingdoms get linked to Normandy proper (Hauteville marriage with the Dukes?)

That would give them a lot of richess and allow them to get more territory there by being a competing center of power?

Difficult since the more territory they cover the more likely they will be Kings rather than Dukes.
Perhaps extend them north and south as Duchy of Upper Normandy - Rouen to Artois - and Lower Normandy - Caen to Rennes plus Maine - which then unite later?
