AHC: Make Walt Disney’s vision of EPCOT a reality

Epcot was not intended to be the second theme park of the Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney intended it to be a City of Tomorrow where innovations would be highlighted and showcased in a functional, conceptual city. Sadly Walt died in ‘66, dooming his dream, but say that his vision of Epcot is completed. What would be the cultural impact of such an endeavor?

I think the first thing that needs to happen is Walt needs to live longer. Long term I'm not sure about the viability of the park as he envisioned it. It might be a nice enough place to live (kind of the like self contained community Zuckerberg is trying to build today) but will people pay money to tour it.

Just look at how EPCOT has changed OTL. I've been going regularly since it opened and every year it loses a bit more of its original theme which was based around attractions that are informative and educational (you know, the kind kids find boring) to just different themed thrill rides. World Showcase has more less devolved into a place to stuff your face and get drunk. They make it easy to do Drinks Around the World now that they kiosks serving alcoholic beverages right in the front of every country.
