AHC: Make these predictions come true

In 1906, Patrick Pearse wrote an article in the newspaper An Claidheamh Soluis imagining the Ireland of 2006. Notably he theorised that in 2006:
  • Ireland would be united and independent, have it's own High King, and speak Irish
  • France would have an emperor
  • Russia would be a republic
  • Japanese would be the lingua franca of the world
  • The British Empire would be conquered and dismantled by Russia
The challenge is with a POD of 1906 to make as many of these predictions as you can come true.

  1. Would need something before 1900 for sure but i'll give it a crack, Ireland somehow manage to hold the British to a stalemate and basically get involved in the equivalent of the winter war where its just not worth it. Then after that, Ireland is taken over by some cult of personality dictator who enforces the Irish Language and Gaelic culture. He then appoints himself the King of the country, a coup ensures, he gets to remain King (maybe he is somewhat popular) but its mostly ceremonial.
  2. Napoleon establishes a monarchy under his own line perhaps?
  3. By 06, technically Russia is a republic no? If we want an actual republic, someone after the fall of the USSR actually pays attention and makes sure the courts are really strong, their are strong measures within the constitutional document to prevent any authoritarians
  4. Japan takes all of what is modern day China, retains Korea and Taiwan as well as taking the Russian-Far East and maybe Siberia (taking advantage of Russia's mess), take Central Asia. I still think even with that it wouldn't happen. if Japan goes for any of the French or British Colonies they'd get promptly stomped.
  5. Super strong Soviet Union plants the seeds of revolution in India, Ghandi and Nehru dies and the peaceful movement dies, leaving only bloody revolution. As for South Africa, again, Communist Revolution overthrowing the white minority government fed by USSR propaganda and this is the story for most of the colonial holdings that have minority rule essentially. Australia and Canada are the challenges, maybe a really REALLY bad recession (like people starving on the streets bad) and the perceived lack of care from the crown leads to revolution. In other words, probably ASB because literally every piece would have to fall into place.

Well, Germany wins World War One, British Empire collapses and Russia becomes a republic (3). Ireland is united and becomes a Monarchy with Joachim of Hohenzollern as King (1). After defeat, France falls in disorder and growing nationalism and in 1934 the Action Francaise Coup is successful and the Empire is restored under Orleans line (2). Soviet Union takes vantage by British difficulties to invade and conquer progressively the former British Empire, especially India and Middle East, supporting communist revolts in the former colonies (5). Without United Kingdom and France Japanese Empire can conquer Indochina and China, creating its Asiatic Co-Prosperity Sphere. United States stay isolationist and came out too late to stop Japan that get control over Pacific. German Imperial MittelEuropa and Soviet Union are natural enemies so, when war breaks down, they are able to self-destruct. Japan is the only great economic power to survive and Japanese becomes world lingua franca by default (4).

Well the third prediction was correct and the fifth was about half right, the Soviets and the US between them essentially forced the British to dismantle their Empire from Bretton Woods onwards (and Harry Dexter White was a Soviet agent). At the time, Japan sat in the middle between Eurasia and the Americas, dominated Korea and was being imitated by China. And was exporting emigrants to Hawaii, the West Coast of the US and Canada and to Peru and Ecuador. All looking promising for the pre-eminent trading power across the Pacific. And the Third Republic was not a stable entity and there were two or three monarchial pretenders. And the Germans were prepared to provide a King for Ireland. It is really reversing the decline of the Irish language that is the tricky one.

The Gallipoli offensive succeeds.

WW I ends in an Allied victory.

Ireland gets united Home Rule as a Dominion. Britain suppresses a Republican uprising using only Irish battalions, then suppresses an Ulster uprising the same way.

Due to the costs of the war and the weakness of the Imperial House (Alexei's illness, Rasputin, etc.), Russia goes viciously fascist, discarding the monarchy. The new dictatorship militarizes the country effectively (Maximum Leader Brutalov is a bastard, but he's a smart bastard).

The victors fall out over the Middle East. France and Russia ally against Britain. Japan breaks with Britain over Pacific ambitions and joins the alliance, becoming hypermilitarist as OTL.

In the Second Great War (1933-1936), the Wheel (France/Russia/Japan) defeats Britain. Japan conquers Malaya, Borneo, and the Pacific, Russia conquers the Middle East and India, France conquers British Africa. France, supported by Russia, and also remilitarized Germany, looking for revenge and a jackal's share, invades and conquers Britain. The US had supported Britain, unites with Canada and Britain's West Indies colonies. Ireland falls to an army of Republican exiles sponsored by the Wheel.

Victorious General La Flamme seizes power and proclaims himself Emperor.

Nuclear weapons invented.

Cold War between the US and the Wheel. Japan breaks with the Wheel, pursuing its own ambitions.

In Great War III (1965), the US and the Wheel largely destroy each other in a nuclear war, Japan remaining neutral.

Afterwards, Japan is the only real power left. Japan reaches out to establish a global network of bases, to keep order and secure its control of whatever resources it wants anywhere. Japanese becomes the language of international affairs, science, and high culture.

Japan props up a puppet Emperor in the ruins of France. Ireland was a Wheel satellite; Dublin, Belfast, and Derry are destroyed by nukes, leaving the untouched Gaeltacht as the surviving majority. General Murphy restores order and proclaims himself Ard Righ.

1904 Doggerbank incident escalate to full War between Britain and Russia and there Allies (here is German Empire Allied with Russia)
but you need a better equipped Russian military for that

Tricky needed a POD in 1870 were French-Prussian War is victorious for emperor Napoleon III
Or the War of 1904 let to reintroduction the monarchy in France und Family of Napoleon III after the War.
