The PoD can be anytime, although it shouldn't require wiping out Europe and China's populations. Obviously due to the paucity of historical knowledge of India between 0-1000 A.D. the PoD will probably have to be that there are major differences in Indian culture and politics.

Is the rise of Islam a major threat to Indian Civilization?
Is an Age of Exploration more likely if India is united in a universal empire or divided?
How many people can medieval Australia support?
Can Indian settlers push into the African interior before 1500 A.D.?
Does India have its own African slave trade?
Does an Indian superstate need to expand into the Iranian plateau to protect India from invasion?
Does India discover America from
1) Crossing the Atlantic after colonizing Western Africa?
2) Sailing North across the Pacific Rim discovering Western North America
3) Sailing directly across the Pacific reaching South America or Mesoamerica?
Is Europe or China most likely to emerge as the second industrial center after the Indosphere?
Is the caste system preserved and if so are some continents settled only by one caste? For instance only Brahmins are allowed to settle America.
Are Indian overseas colonies primarily displace the native populations or do they mix with them?
Are world population densities markedly higher due to India colonizing the world?
