Ahc: Make D Day doesn’t happen but Allies still wins

make the D Day doesn’t happen for some reason( bad time, the operation be discovery, etc) but allies still win, how this affect our world? Without this, can USSR takeover Europe?

The Allies always have Plan B (Dragoon-style landing in Southern France) or , if worst comes to worst, Plan C (reinforcing Italy).

Soviet wank should do it.
Planets work as planned, Army group B and Army Group A are destroyed, Army group Center is routed, the Soviets roll west as fast as their LL Studbakers can run on their terrible roads, US historians later claim that the Wallies did all the hard work in Africa and Europe was just a side show.

In 1944 Axis were already losing so Allies would eventually win anyway. It would be just Soviets on Rein thing.

Without the second front, the Germans are able to transfer enough forces East to sufficiently slow down the Soviets. April, 1945 landings then occur and we end up with essentially the same division of Europe, just with this happening in July or August of 1945 instead of April/May.

The Allies had learned their mistake from WWI that the Germans would not believe they had been defeated until enemy boots marched all over the Fatherland. SO either the Western Allies conduct a landing in Northwest Europe or accept a Soviet occupation of at least all of Germany.

Even with the excellent port facilities that a Mediterranean coast invasion provided the distances involved for operations in Northwest Europe would put excessive strain on the supply system. And with the immense logistics base in the British Isles a landing on the French/Belguim coast to allow those troops and supplies to be injected into the fight would be needed. Maybe you could change the timing (Dragoon first to suck the Germans south and then Neptune to cut them off but you need the Northwest Invasion to thrust into Germany.

Allies delay a week, and Channel storms contribute to the invasion being repelled. Allies reinforce Italy and move into the Balkans while continuing to.build up for another go at France in 1945. July 20 plot butterflied away.

Bagration is less successful than OTL, and AGC mostly escapes. Germans transfer majority of manpower replacements and new construction East, and turn the Soviet advance into a slow slog.

Air war over Germany continues and with long range fighter escorts, Bomber Command and 8th and 15th Air Forces decimate Germany. Atomic bombs dropped on Nuremburg and Wilhelmshaven (or pick other targets).

German military coup in September of 1945, with the Soviets in Central Poland and the Western Allies on the Austrian border, with the Soviets and WAllies advancing through Hungary/Romania etc.

Allies make largely administrative landings in France and northern Germany with tacit approval from German military junta as surrender negotiations are ongoing.

Without a front in Europe, the US finishes off Japan sooner, leaving time for Thin Man and Fat Boy on the north coast of Germany. My biggest fear is that the Russians would get all of Germany, complete with the rocket science, before we could freeze them in place with the Bombs.

The Germans get the complete plans for D-Day but the Allies find out they have them.
D-Day is cancelled. The Allies launch invasions on the west coast of Italy the Germans have transferred all the reserves to Normandy and are caught off guard.
Von Kesslring does not have the reserves to counter the allied invasion his forces are cut off in Italy and he is forced to surrender.
The Germans can move troops up to the French border to try to hold the allies but the Austrian frontier is undefended.
Troops from the Eastern front cannot be spared due to a massive Soviet offencive.

The Italian do a better job surrendering and Allies engage in more aggressive landings and end up in Austria by September 1943. This was Churchill's ultimate hope with the Italian campaign after all.

Probably Victor Emmanuel would need to be eliminated because he was way too sympathetic to fascism and Mussolini, IMHO. Umberto, who hated Mussolini, was fully ready by late 1942 to accept the terms of surrender which Badoglio & VE were forced to accept in July 1943.

This causes at least the Hungarians and Bulgarians to switch side, etc.

A better North African campaign ends in late 1942. Scily invaded early 1943 but seen mostly as stepping stone to Sardinia and Corsica. (Although 8th Army should land at the "toe' to force Germany to defend Italy against it as well as along the long coastline). Allies can invade southern France by mid-1943 while German forces are still having to guard the Channel coast. (Deception strategy with fake or cadre divisions) Also invade Northern Italy to cut off forces fighting 8th Army.

It's a long road to Berlin from there but grind down the German forces through air supremacy and the allies will get there. Possibly cutting off the forces in Northern France on the way.
