Make it as large as possible without any sneaky use of the Iberian Union. The current date in this TL is the current date in OTL. POD is anytime after 1492.

Bonus points if:
- It controls both Paraguay and Uruguay.
- It controls the entire region of The Guiana's.
- It has a coastline on the Pacific.
- It controls the entire Amazon river drainage basin (as defined on the map on this page).

But then, Brazil wouldn't even be as big as it currently is.

Could be done. Have the Cisplatine War go on longer, and the Argentineans and Uruguayans fold(Buenos Aires was feeling the effects of the naval blockade, I don't see them going on much longer than 1829), netting you Uruguay. With some contortions, you could get a different Paraguayan War, ending in the conquest of Paraguay by Brazil(it would have been a hard slog, though).

- It controls the entire region of The Guiana's.

That's harder; I'd say you could get large parts of it, getting the rest involves picking up a fight with Britain(the Portuguese conquered the French Guyana in 1809, then returned it in the Vienna Congress; you could go for broke and get Suriname in the same period).

No can do; Brazilian expansion would stop at the foot of the Andes at best. As you go beyond, you're entering the Peruvian heartlands, at the end of a long supply line.
