I've always found it strange, given how popular baseball in the US is, that nobody seems to care about the World Baseball Classic. Our best players avoid it (especially starting pitchers), and the whole thing is run in a way that makes it clear that the priority is keeping the players healthy for the MLB season, not winning the competition. What PoD would make the US take the competition seriously, the way we do for Olympic Basketball or the FIBA World Cup?
