There's dozens of military strategy games out there that could have been used to play out Olympic, hell there are some that already exist, at least as scenarios or mods. I remember playing a turn-based WWII computer game on a hexagonal grid circa 2000 that included it amongst its what-if scenarios. Can't remember its name sadly.

It unlikely you'd ever get one focusing on such a specific what-if though as its not a 'new' scenario (Cold War turns hot etc.). That goes double for any FPS or similar game. Why move into counterfactual when the Japanese and Wallies fought each other plenty in many real theatres? Is shooting IJA soldiers in 1946 on the Kanto Plains really that much different to doing it on Guadalcanal in 1942?

Why do you ask? Are you fishing for ideas?

I would play the shit out of that. Think that would make a decent idea for another large-scale battlefield game, only backdated to WWII.
