no recognition of ploitical parties

I kow some or all of the authors of the Constitution didn't like political parties. They can't be banned, of course--but if it was explicit in some early state or national government that political parties would have no official, recognized by law and governemtn rule, existance, then primaries would be unable to be done by party...

Unless there's an amendment to the Constitution proposed & adopted by the states in the early 1790s stating that "Political parties shall have no recognition under Federal law or rule; neither shall any any elected official of the Federal government be elected by partisan ballot", and unless a number of states enact similar legislation for state and local elections, the door to anything like the Louisiana primary system will be shut closed tightly until around/after 1900.
