AHC: Lots and Lots of Pagans

Make one of these three things happen:

Norse Paganism with a population of over 50 million POD after 50 BCE

Greco-Roman Paganism with a population of over 100 million with a POD during the roman empire

Wicca with a population of 20 million

Wicca with a population of 20 million

I had an FH scenario involving the failure of a nuclear war in the Middle East to bring about the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus and a "Great Man" writing a book about how Wicca is more compatible with the Enlightenment* than the Abrahamic faiths leading to lots of disillusioned Protestant end-times junkies converting to Wicca.

I don't think it ever got that high though--most would probably become agnostics or the like if they left Christianity at all, not Wiccans.

*Rather doubtful, IMO, at least the "Dies the Fire" version that involves spirits of the trees and the like.

Here's a very simple answer; how about Christianity or an ATL equivalent not spreading into Europe? Causing most of the Roman Empire to keep following or convert to the Greco-Roman faith. Then, when the Great Migration Period arrives the Germanic tribes spread across Europe and eventually settle down, supposing that they would keep practicing their Norse religion and converting the local populace of the places where they settled, and then keep doing so over a few centuries, you could vaguely have what you requested for.

Give it time. AFAIK Wicca is the fastest growing religion; the ARIS shows Wicca to have a growth rate of 143% from 1990 to 2001, and a rate of 255% from 2001 to 2008.

EDIT: To reach the OP's requirement, Wicca would have to maintain or accelerate its growth-curve until ~2035.

Mary, mother of Christ, has a miscarriage while with child. Chriistianity is never founded and Judaism remains a boondocks religion. Greco-Roman Paganism endures even after the fall of the Roman empire in the late 8th century (our 8th century), and becomes the dominant religion in today's modern nations. Meanwhile, Norse Paganism remains a strong insurgent religion in northern Europe, especially Germania and Skandinavia.
