AHC: Lord High Steward of England is Premier

The Lord High Steward of England was the first of the English Great Officers of State.

Since the death of Henry IV's younger son it has only been used during
coronations.

Your challenge is to combine it with that of Scotland and make it the primary title of the equivalent of the Prime Minister.

Failing that just outline how the title can survive...

It could happen, but the problem I believe is that this kind of office was viewed as being too close to the royal household.

Is it closer than the Lord High Chancellor or are you thinking of the Lord Steward of the Household?
I was after the original post that was associated with the Earldom of Leicester (and later Lancaster)
