AHC: Longest surviving Ottoman Empire

Have the Ottoman Empire survive as long as possible. Bonus points the more lands it keeps/conquers.

EDIT: 1821 borders preferably

Lets say 1821 borders

Does Muhamed Ali's Egypt count as independent for the sake of this discussion?

Given Russian pressures and a lack of large-scale Muslim settlement/conversion, holding onto Wallachia/Moldova seems hard without PODs well before OTL 1821.

1299 borders—in perpetuity, of course.

On a serious note, which of the borders that you suggested would be the easiest for the Ottomans to control?

I guess the one in 1877. Beat the Russians in the war which is really possible. And then you have breathing space. The part of the Balkans they owned were 43% Islamic, qnd growing.

There is no reason the Ottoman Empire couldn't survive to this day in the right circumstances, of course.
I'll have to agree with you there. One could compare it to ancién regime France -- the Capetian or Capetian-derived monarchy survived for over 750 years without interruption. I can see the Ottomans lasting for the same period. But of course, that's not counting the structural modifications to the monarchy's politics that happen along the way.
