AHC: Longer Anime boom in US(Pop culture)

As you know when Anime came to the US it was big, but not so much anymore.

What could have made the anime boom in US last longer, possibly to this day? It dosen't have to last forever through. And what could be a greater pop culture effect of more Anime popularity in America?

Ok no Moe would be a good start, or most Moe-inducing anime stay in Japan. Toonami is used to broadcast only anime and they should do something like with Big O--make anime specifically catering to American audiences.

Second, Bandai should have brought Gundam X over to America. Even if it failed in Japan it had many themes that could work well with an Ameircan Audience, and following that, Turn A. Their biggest mistake was bringing the original MSG to America IMHO. What they could do is get Gundam X here, and try to get some of the video games for the Gundam series to US and see if they sell well if X is successful.

Bringing Gundam UC was a bad idea for many reasons IMO, not to mention Zeta and CCA had many, many virtually unlikable characters.

Also had Harmony Gold been more lenient with the Macross license and Macross Plus and 7 allowed to air on TV. That or they are able to handle the Robotech line better, finish the storyline they planned, and then pass the torch back to Studio Nue.

And I know this is borderline ASB, but it would help immensely if a Super Robot Wars game was brought over to the US AND it sold well. Rumors were thata translation of the Dreamcast version of SRW Alpha was in the works at some point (spurred on largely by the fact it was ready for release at the height of Gundam Wing popularity in America), but due to disputes probably from Harmony Gold, the negotiations broke down. So the above would actually prevent this.

Butterfly away 9/11 as well. It shifted what can be seen on the media by a LARGE degree. And if the Writer's Guild strike happens, if the Japanese companies manage to take advantage of many shows going on hiatus and fill the niche, they might be able to maintain a degree of popularity.

An effect of this is it probably butterflies away shows like Game of Thrones or the Walking Dead, which may be a bad thing:(. Any other effects?

How about having HBO make a live action version of an Anime. OTL Guillermo Del Toro and HBO are supposedly planning an adaption of "Monster". Maybe have that come earlier, during the rest of the boom, and have it be successful, bringing a demand for seinen to the US market. Being HBO, it'll be targeted toward adults who have more money. That's one way.

Another, yea, butterfly away Moe and the brief cancellation of Toonami. Also have Cartoon Network and Adult Swim in general be more open to anime.

Not many anime a doable in live action TBH. However, I can see Death Note or Monster as doable. How about have Legends of Galactic Heroes air on an adult channel--two episodes every week back-to-back(each episode is 30 mins). Or do an live action adaptation of LOGH.

Again, I believe that anime did not capitalize on many opportunities given to them and Bandai was stuck with Gundam. They could have tried to capitalize on Writer's Strike IMO but by them the decline was starting.

That would work. But honestly I think one thing that's needed is more gateway series in the beginning of the boom. Get more people hooked at the beginning.
