AHC Kinnock Wins 1992

Your challenge, should you accept it, is with any PoD after John Major becomes PM, have the UK Labour Party plausibly win the 1992 UK election. This is just about the how. Go ahead!

Interesting article but hard to swallow, because of their conclusion!

Labour, we conclude, can easily end the long Tory dominance - but, without an unprecedented and improbable swing, it cannot win outright.
Unprecedented, yes, but improbable? Nope, it happened and it happened to result in a giant majority.
And then they did it again four years later...

-Earlier REM crash or some of scandals which domainted the Major government come out such as Major/Currie affair

It depends on how you define 'win', we should remember that a switch from stable majority to stable majority has only ever happened once since the war and Major's majority was huge. Simple things like avoiding the victory party in Sheffield prior to the election, perhaps some slightly dodgier stuff like Major's affair with Edwina Currie being leaked, make Maastricht less of a success etc and you have a scenario where Labour can govern to some extent with the help of the Liberals, the SNP and the SDLP. But a stable majority really would require something like an earlier black Wednesday.

Catastrophic for Labour, they will get all the blame for the ERM debacle and will almost certainly be wiped out in 97' as the Tories were OTL.
