OK, what would it take to have Kingdom of Poland ( in second Poland Republic's borders in 1918. ) in Poland after WW1.
So, Entente victory as OTL, borders as OTL, but monarchy?

The only way to get a kingdom is a CP victory. Pilsudski wanted a republic and as the powerbroker among the Polish he had the most say in the post-war government. Also the Polish Legion had a very different perspective than the Poles from Galicia or the British. They had more in common with French and US Republicanism.

If we had a CP Kingdom of Poland there could be a Habsburg monarchy depending on the specific scenario. That would be very interesting, especially as A-H was becoming increasingly hostile to German domination and would find Poland very much in the same situation. Though Poland's monarch would likely be like Finland's monarch, the links between Austria and Poland would likely strengthen against Germany as Germany pushed a Mittel Europa style system on both A-H and Poland (Hungary would relatively like that system because she could sell grain at inflated prices to a captive German market, further pissing off everyone else in A-H).

What would the Poles gain by having a monarchy in an Entente victory scenario? From where would they import a king?

Dont know, restore thousand years old Polish Kingdom? Maybe even Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth?
And for a king, I presume that there is at least a few catholic dynasties in Europe that could send them a king. Also, they have home-grown high nobility that could become a royalty...

And if Pilsudski somehow kicked the bucket in 1918?
The problem is not just Pilsudski. For the Poles the only good reason for a monarchy is if it strengthen relations with a Great Power. In an Entente victory there really aren't use for a monarch for Poland.

They did restore the good old elective monarchy. Only that the elected king was to be called President and lifelong mandates were abolished. :D

Restoration of the commonwealth would be incredibly unlikely, as post-war relations between lithuania and poland were very shoddy over Vilinus.

So, if they pick some member of say Orleans/Bourbon dynasty, or some Catholic Windsor or member of Savoia...

The Austrian Plan had a Hapsburg take the throne. Basically you just need A-H to do better early in the war and therefore being the one calling the shots in Poland. A-H doing better in 1914/15 will normally get you a CP win. I did the Kingdom of Poland due to Italy not entering the war and the UK using the Gallipoli forces in France. As a result, Poland was administered by the Hapsburgs and the Kaiser gave into the Hapsburg's plan after some minor annexations.

You can also have Germany put a monarch on the throne of Poland in many CP win scenarios.

While the Poles wanted Lithuania, it is unlikely to be a part of Poland since it conflicts with the Germans plans near the Baltic coast.
