AHC: Kingdom of Corsica 1815

Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to get a British, Prussian, or Hapsburg prince on the throne of an Independent Kingdom of Corsica.

-extra points if the Kingdom survives until 1850

-extra points if the Kingdom manages to defeat a larger nation in some war e.g. Sardinia, Sicily.

-extra points if the Monarch culturally becomes Corsican

I dont see a British or Prussian unless they convert and I dont see it going to such big power maybe they could separate it from France by giving it to the Orleans or something it weaken France without strengthening the other country.

Minus Points ;)
And Queen Marie Louise (with L'Aiglon inheriting)? She is an Habsburg after all...
Maybe if Parma had been given to the Kingdom of Italy by Napoleon and the Powers wanted to give Marie Louise some land, but at the same time keep her and eapecially her son away from trouble? Then it could become a hotbed of liberalism and Garibaldi/Mazzini (or equivalents) could use it to plan revolutionary activities in the peninsula. Under whatever monarch Corsica won't have the resources to fight against anyone else sadly...

Maybe Murat is granted a new "Italian" Kingdom ?

Why would he get anything? His side had thoroughly lost the Napoleonic wars. I think the best route is to have the British try and revive the Anglo-Corsican Kingdom by post Waterloo in order to make the Med even more of a British lake and have the other Allied powers bargin them down to putting a Hapsburg or Spanish Bourbon collateral on the throne.

It would never work Corsica is catholic and all the other power would refuse.

Woul a second Anglocorsican Kingdom recieve the Governance of Mslta?

No one really objected to it the first time round IIRC. Besides, that way, Boney is a British subject and can be charged with treason for levying war against George III and made a head shorter on Tower Hill or go dance at Tyburn

Allegedly when the Congress of Vienna attempted to discuss the disposition of overseas territories Lord Castlereagh (the British Foreign Secretary) presented the assembled delegates with two lists - one of territories Britain intended to keep, one of territories Britain was willing to hand back to their original owners. When the delegates attempted to discuss the contents of the lists (especially the first one), Castlereagh's response was to ask them to refer the question to the Royal Navy.

As for religion, Malta was Catholic and so was Quebec and Britain managed to govern those places well enough. Not everywhere is Ireland.

Perhaps giving it to Leopold, Prince of Salerno, who was the son of the King of Two Sicilies, and in 1816 would marry his niece Archduchess Clementina of Austria.
