So I made a post on "AHC: Kill the big cats" where I said that I thought the thread meant to make every member of Pantherinae extinct before 2019 and that got 20 likes. A couple of people thought the same as me, so I thought it would be interesting to see people's views on this. I personally think this is somewhat depressing too (especially as an animal enthusiast and someone who works with them for a living) but I thought I would make it anyway because of the reasons already stated.

Anyway, how can you make it so that the modern big cats are even more threatened than now, with a few (even just one, up to you) even going extinct (I know that there are subspecies of lions, tigers and clouded leopards that have gone extinct, but I'm referring to the species generally) before 2019? POD should be roughly 1900 and afterwards.

Perhaps butterflying away modern conservationism would do it, at least for a few centuries. Plenty of time for people to shoot them into extinction.
