The Empire of Manchukuo was a japanese puppet state and the continuation of the Qing dynasty of China in Manchuria, as most of you know, under the control of Emperor Aisin Gioro Puyi until it was overrun by the soviets in 1945 and given to the PRC.

Your objective is to have Manchukuo to continue existing under the Aisin Gioro dynasty until modern days. I don't believe that it is feasible for them to reclaim China, however their wikipedia page tells that the Manchurian middle class and some sectors of the society were acceptive of the new government, and:

"By the 1930s, Manchukuo's industrial system was among the most advanced making it one of the industrial powerhouses in the region. Manchukuo's steel production exceeded Japan's in the late 1930s. Many Manchurian cities were modernised during the Manchukuo era. However, much of the country's economy was often subordinated to Japanese interests and, during the war, raw material flowed into Japan to support the war effort. Traditional lands were taken and redistributed to Japanese farmers with local farmers relocated and forced into collective farming units over smaller areas of land."

So how would such state look today? I believe that the only way for it to survive is by Japan not advancing more in China, but China would attack Japan after finishing it civil war to reclaim manchuria, wouldn't ? Could Japan protect it?
