AHC: Keep Drive-In Theaters Popular

To keep drive-ins alive, find a way to pipe cool air into cars for those hot summer nights.
Regular cinemas used to advertise "air conditioning."
Audiences watched mighty cheesy C-grade matinee movies, just for an excuse to escape muggy summer afternoons.

At some truck stops they have a unit that fits in the window. Provides AC, electric outlets, and even internet access. Would think something like that could be adapted. Put a call button on it and order snacks or drinks.

It isn't just the drive ins that are dying , movie theaters period are going under. It is hard to get people to fork over money to see something once on the big screen when they can buy a DVD for little more and see it as many times as they want. Even big budget movies like Star Wars and The Hobbit are on the big screen only 6 months or so at most in most places while they could go for a year or more before DVDs and earlier VCRs.
