AHC: Jousting Remains Popular Sport

ok, so outside of medieval times and the rennaissance festival, how can jousting remain a favorite arena sport to the modern day?

Not sure, maybe a Neo-Chivalry revival in England?

How would amatch between Andrew Jackson and Aaron Burr go?

Greater stigma against gunpowder and other ranged weapons. Make it something that Gentlemen don't use, period. Then, you have swords and jousting remain the primary methods of settling disputes. A good cavalry horse is a bigger sign of wealth, so jousting remains the preferred method of dueling among the higher nobility, and they maintain it for centuries.

Doesn't work. Gentlemen don't use, and then gentlemen die; nobody's that honorable. You may get the above in one small area in one specific time, but it'll be over-run by its neighbors rather quickly and then we're back to square one.

Edit: Maybe something along the lines of this could become popular? ;)
