AHC... Japan like New Zealand

Hi! thanks for the quick answer. I remember that even in Australia people knew NZ beef was better quality(cleaner). Just didn't say it out loud.
Here's a quick question.
Is there ever a time when England experience droughts and go to levels as bad as the one depicted above?

They do suffer droughts, I just don't follow them as I don't have to worry about farming anymore. For urban dwellers it usually manifests itself by way of hose pipe bans for the watering of gardens.

True.
Here's a NZ vs. UK climate website just as general information:
http://www.enz.org/nz-climate.html
In simple terms, almost the whole of New Zealand is warmer and sunnier than the UK. The driest weather is found in the east (Christchurch and Napier, for example) and the warmest weather is found in the north (Auckland and Napier, for example).

Although New Zealanders will tell you that you can experience four seasons in one day here, in practice, the weather is less variable than the UK. Of course you can get stuck in a run of bad weather in New Zealand, but the sun will usually be back cheering you up again before too long, whatever the season.
Generally warmer and drier.
Sounds about right.
Wouldn't be all right for the crops though, that's depressing.

Well there has to be a crop package that is better suited to NZ's climate than the current. Maybe something from the Med/Southern Europe. That doesn't necessarily help a lot with intensification though.

The olives and grapes must be totally worth it, though.
If I wasn't studying and had a lot of money I'd totally go live in NZ.

It can be pretty good yes, the quality of ingredients anyway. Where I grew up we had a good range of the normal British crops/animals and then really good wineries, hotter weather crops too.

When I first visited in 1976 I couldn't work out how a place full of trout and deer couldn't sell them in restaurants - times have changed.
