AHC: Invasion of the Mainland United States post 1900

I'll go with a White Dawn 1945.

1914 POD: Franz Ferdinand not assassinated, WW1 averted
1917: Imperial Russia completes modernization of Russian military
1918-1920: WW1 erupts, France and Russia partition Germany, Duma subsumes power over Czar, reducing him to a figurehead
1924: Russia annexes collapsing Austria-Hungary, leading to souring relations with West
1932-38: Russia declares war on Imperial Japan as a way of distracting their populace from the economic perils of the Great Depression, Russia annexes Manchuria and Korea--finds out that many of its WW1 weaponry and strategy is out of date and begins another massive modernization, particularly of their navy.
1938: Imperial Russia has world's largest GDP
1941: France, Britain, US, and Japan form a defense pact against Imperial Russia
1944: Russia has world's largest naval fleet, about 70% of the size of the Royal Navy and US Navies combined
1945: Russian intelligence detects coordination among the Entente to attack Russian holdings across the Rhine. To pre-empt any Allies attacks, Imperial Russia draws up a plan to attack first globally. On th first day of war Imperial's Russia's navy destroys the Japanese fleet in port. A large Russian landing force lands in Alaska, easily overwhelming the Americans. Months later the US fleet meets the Russian fleet in battle over Midway Island. US Pacific Fleet s decisively defeated, the Russian navy's widespread use of radar and aircraft carriers clearly gives them the upper hand. Russia's mining of the Baltic Sea near Denmark and additional mining in the artic sea prevent Royal Navy from attacking the vastly inferior Russian fleet in the West. Coordinated French and British ground attacks are chewed up by superior Russian armor, including the widespread use of anti-tank heat ammo (ATL Panzerfausts). Imperial Russia has air superiority in Western Europe and decisively counter attacks along a narrow front, cutting off all the entente forces at Antwerp. France precipitously collapses and Italy joins the war against the Entente.
1946-1947 US, Britain, and Japan continue war. Entente airforces over Europe are checked by superior Russian fighters, including the first operational jet squadrons. Japan loses islands, north and south of their home islands from Russian "island hopping" campaigns. The Russian airfoce beings mining Japanese ports, leading to their capitualtion in 1947. Combined US-Royal navy maneuvers in the Pacific are defeated by qualitatively superior Russian fleet (which has many more aircraft carriers.) Hawaii is occupied by Russia. US-Canadian-British attempts to retake Alaska fail due to logistics.
1948 Russia drops an Atomic bomb on both London and San Francisco. Immediately Entente comes to terms.

Here's my try, inspired by James G's Red Dawn stories and much more.

1938
: Maurice Bavaud shot Hitler but the latter emerged relatively unscathed.

1957: Russians launched Sputnik satellite on October 4th.

1958: Sputnik 3 is launched on April.

1961: Yuri Gagarin is the first man in space.

1963: US President Kennedy is assassinated.

1967: Alexei Leonov and Oleg Makarov is the first to reach the moon though not to surface.

1969: Neil Armstrong landed on the Moon and ARPANET is born. Lunokhod 1 is the first lunar roving vehicle and Alexei Leonov walked on the Moon at the end of the year.

1971: Kosmos 419 is launched to Mars and became the first to orbit it.

1974: Apollo 20 is the last crewed lunar mission.

1976: Gerald Ford won that year's presidential election.

1979: Iran and Nicaraguan communist revolutions while Castro is the subject of Somoza's unsuccessful assassination attempt. Al Haig is shot by Red Army Faction terrorist group and Brezhnev dies from heart attack.

1980: Ted Kennedy is elected POTUS, Unterweser nuclear plant in West Germany bombed by Red Army Faction. Start of Salvadorian civil war.

1981: Guatemala fell to communism. Inaugural flight of NASA's space shuttle.

1982: Unsuccessful invasion attempt against Belize mounted by Guatemala. Fatal accidental shootdown of a Chinese airliner by Soviet forces in Pacific.

1983: Angola, El Salvador and Honduras became communist. KAL 007 tragedy.

Early 1984: Mexico erupted into unrest with an army colonel mounting coup d'etat and overthrowing the government. However he was forced to flee to the United States afterwards while Cuban-backed communists under Tirado Lopez expand their power and by this time Russia is considering to invade America.

Summer of 1984: Los Angeles Olympics takes place while Mexican communists reached part of the US border. Later on Russia began massive deception operation to hide their invasion preparations. Ted Kennedy is in big trouble because of multiple scandals and KGB begin to assassinate or kidnap various both notable and regular individuals for their perusal. Start of "Grey Terror" which involves countless terrorist attacks all over the world.

October 9, 1984: Soviet invasion of America commences with strategic nuclear attacks against critical US locations and knocking out several US satellites with Istrebitel Sputnik systems. They and their allies poured in from Alaska and Mexico later on and KGB pressures America's allies to keep their hands off with the threats to harm the kidnapped individuals.

Upon outbreak of war, STS-41-G was forced to abort their mission and land at Mohammed V International Airport in Morocco, an emergency landing site.

US stays neutral in WW1, allowing Germany to win via a more successful 1917/1918 campaign season. France collapses into chaos before the Germans help the royalists prop up a new kingdom. Britain loses some African territories, and retreats into isolationism. Germany and Austria-Hungary help the Whites win the war in Russia.

As the 1920s progress Germany becomes more active in Latin America, trying to become the new dominant power in the region, a fact helped along by having access to Dutch colonies in the region (let's say the Kaiser pressures the Netherlands into this as part of their plans of economic hegemony). Mexico begins to come under increasing German influence. At the same time America has not seen a post-war boom like it did IOTL as it's loans to France and Britain have gone mostly unpaid and there wasn't a surge in industry from joining the war. Still America is angry about Germany's sticking it's nose where it doesn't belong, something happens, and a war is started. Germany and it's puppets in France and the Netherlands are able to use bases in the Caribbean and Mexico to launch a series of raids against American ports in the Gulf and Atlantic regions, maybe convincing Spain to join in and "take back" Puerto Rico or something. I don't know how realistic that is, but it seems interesting.
