OK, so here is the challenge-the size of the U.S. House of Representatives is 435 for a population of 322 million people. I think this way too small a body to represent that many people. Britain, with a population of 65 million people, has a House of Commons with 650 members. The Reapportionment Act of 1929 capped the size of House at 435, and it has not been modified since then. My challenge is to have the act modified at some point between 1929 and now to increase the size of the House to make it a more representative body.
I realize there are going to be many people who disagree about needing to increase the size of the House. That would obviously have to be taken up at the political discussion board, but for the purposes of this particular thread, I would like to hear any ideas people may have about increasing the House size.
