AHC: House Romanov of Finland

In OTL, Carl Gustav Emil Mannerheim was Finnish Baron, an officer the Imperial Russian Army and a loyal supporter of the Romanovs. It is also known that he visited St. Petersburg and vitnessed the February Outbreak.

But what if, feeling the heat, Mannerheim decided to take action to preserve the Romanov line and successfully smuggled the children to Finland?

Basically, let's assume that the Romanovs become the ruling family of Finland. Let's as an added bonus say that Alexei succumbs to Hemophilia, leaving Olga to take the throne as Grand Duchess (or whatever the title would be) of Finland

Who to ally with and for what reasons? I myself was thinking of an unusual alliance with Germany to retake Russia. Could it be done with any resources and alliances available?

What sort of marriage pacts should be done and with whom? I know Olga was considered to be married with Edward, Prince of Wales, but I still feel that a marriage to German nobility/royalty would be the best option. But what do you think?

I very much doubt that Post-Russification Finland would want a Romanov to take the throne of the Grand Principality. By this point in history the independence movement is VERY loud and is based on breaking all ties with Russia and embracing the west... especially Germany with an open heart. The whole reason for the Finnish monarchist project was to make an unbreakable tie between Finland and Germany. Having a Russian Grand Prince/Duke would make this for all intents and purposes impossible.

Not happen. Finns were on early years extremely anti-Russian and Romanovs they hated even more. So not any changes that in Finland could be Romanov monarch. And anyway, monarch should convert as Lutheran and learn Finnish language.

Might be doable with a pre-1900 PoD with the Three Emperors' Alliance not breaking, meaning Russia might not get paranoid about the loyality of Finns (and other minorities) and not have to resort to russification in Finland, meaning Finns might not get a reason to truly hate the Russians, meaning they might let the royal family (or at least a member of it) take refuge in Finland and maybe even retain his/her crown there if the situation in Russia goes downhill.

Need a pre 1900- PoD, yes. You need to have Finnish pro- independence nationalist sentiment, but not have it being so actively anti- Romanov as it was OTL. (Basically you need to have Finland get it easiet under the later Czars, less Russification). Having the Romanov who ends up on the throne visit Finland often and convert to Lutheranism would certainly help (but then again said Prince/ Princess would fast become persona non grata in St. Petersburg, which would lessen the person's prospect of getting a throne).
