AHC: Have WW2 known as the Hitlerite Wars

Just as the period from 1803-15 is known as the Napoleonic Wars, have the period from 1939-1945 known as the Hitlerite Wars. Feel free to limit the actual fighting to Europe itself but it's most desirable to still have the Pacific War bungled in - again it's not essential but it would be nice.

For this to occur, I think you would need some periods of peace interspersed between periods of total war. You would also need to have some sort of dynamic in which Hitler overshadows the other great personalities of the era: Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt.

My scenario: war goes the way it did OTL until the fall of France. The UK then makes a temporary peace for some reason, perhaps due to a disaster at Dunkirk combined with an devastating B.O.B. Hitler then declares war on the USSR after an interlude, makes slightly more progress than OTL. Germany then declares war of the US and UK after Pearl Harbor, as in OTL. German defeat follows, however due to the period of peace between wars, Japan is forced out of the war on schedule, but Germany holds out another six months or so. By an interesting coincidence, the world learns of Hitler's death on the same day as the German army surrenders.

In such a scenario, Hitler could be more easily portrayed as the instigator of the entire series of wars, much as Napoleon was. In addition, the wars would begin and end with actions taken by Hitler.

Without the US (and subsequently, most of the Western Hemisphere) being at war with Germany, its not really a World War, but rather a European scrap between Germany and Britain/France/USSR. The dominions don't really count, unfortunately for them.

The US is what tied the European and Pacific wars together. Have the Japanese attack British possessions, and thereby link the wars, and you still get a world war.

However, as long as Europe's fighting and Japan's assault on China are separate, its not a world war.
