AHC: Have the USA be a member of a coalition against Napoleon.

How could the USA get involved against Napoleon in one of the coalition wars? They could fight the french navy possibly, and perhaps seize Hispaniola or Louisiana if France had not lost them yet.
 
That would require better relations with Britain - you might have to have an early win like in my "Washington Wins At Brandywine." There, Britain loses by 1778-9 and they respect the U.S. as at least equal to a small nation like the Dutch. With them not impressing U.S. sailors much and honoring the treaty, it's esier for the U.S., when something happens in the Quasi War, to join the British agaisnt Napoleon in 1799.
 
refusal to sell the LA territory? The US really wanted New Orleans. But I see it more as a case of 'jumping in when Napoleon is already on the ropes', seizing NO when the emperor can't really do anything about it...
