AHC: Have the German, British, and Russian Empires be allies in a war roughly equivalent to WW1

Inspired by the fact that, at the time of WW1, the King of Britain, Kaiser of Germany, and Tsar of Russia were first cousins.

WW1 would be different than OTL. France would be going for Alsace-Lorraine so they would go war. Germany and Russia would profit the internal problems of Austro-Hungary and they would split in three parts the empire: Germany would annex Austria, Slovenia and Bohemia, Hungary would be a buffer state between Russia and Germany, the rest would be for Russia (or his allies like Serbia). The tsar wanted Constantinople so him and the british would remove some kebab. Bulgaria would join the Entente to avoid being neutralised by the other slav nations. Romania wanted only Transilvania so they would join the russians. Italy won't be betraying Germany. USA would be neutral, there was no point to support France, that had multiple fronts and less allies than Germany or Britain. Japan would join the Entente to expand further in China, so China would join the Triple Alliance. Belgium would let the germans pass so they would join the Triple Alliance. Here would be the WW1 sides:
Entente: France, Austro-Hungary, Ottoman Empire (and arab satellites), Bulgaria, Japan
Triple Alliance: German Empire, Russian Empire, British Empire (and dominions), Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Grecce, Italy, Portugal, China, Belgium

I remember there was a thread on SpaceBattles with a scenario like this, and the conclusion was that Britain would be shooting itself in the face. The “Victorian Alliance” would definitely win against any other imaginable European alliance, but Britain would be screwed. There would be a massive GrossDeutschland occupying Antwerp, a “dagger pointed at the heart of England”. Russia would own the straits and compete with Britain for dominance of the Mediterranean, and without any enemies in Europe it could expand southwards and resume the Great Game.

Posible WW1 Treaties:
Treaty of Versailles ( for France): France cedes Nice, Savoy ,Corsica and Tunisia to Italy. Cedes all the american lands to the British Empire. Cedes all the Pacific Islands to Germany and Britain. Cedes Indochina to Germany. Cedes all the Chinese Lands to the Republic of China. Cedes Indian Lands to the British Raj. Cedes Morocco and Equatorial Africa to Germany. Cedes Madagascar to Germany. Cedes Djibouti to Italy. Cedes Pas de Calais to Belgium. HARSH WAR REPARATIONS. FRANCE ASSUMES ALL THE FAULT FOR CAUSING THE WAR. ARMY REDUCED TO 80K, NO AIRCRAFT AND NO NAVY.
Treaty of Trianon ( for Austro-Hungary): Germany annexes Austria, Slovenia and Bohemia. Serbia annexes Croatia and Bosnia to create Yugoslavia. Romania gets all of Transilvania. The new Yugoslavia gets Hungarian Voivodina. Hungary and Slovakia released as a federation that will be neutral and have limited army to 30k. Italy gets Trentino and Istria. Gets also Dalmatia and a protectorate over Albania. Galitzia annexed by Russia.
Treaty of Saint-Germain en Laye ( for Ottomans): Russia gets Greater Armenian Lands and the straits, Grecce gets the Aegean Islands, Britain gets Iraq, Palestine and Syria, Hedjaz gets independence, Jabal Shammar ceded to Saudi Arabia. British gets Yemen and Oman. Turkey becomes a republic with no army limits.
Treaty of Sevres (for Japan): Port Arthur ceded to Russia, Korea independent, Taiwan and Chinese Concessions to China. Shakalin and Kuril Islands to Russia, Japan losses all the islands minus Okinawa and Iwo Jima to Germany and Britain. NAVY LIMIT AND LIMITED POLITICAL POWERS FOR THE EMPEROR.
Treaty of Neuilly (for Bulgaria): Cedes Thrace to Greece. Cedes borderland to the new Yugoslavia. Cedes Southern Dobruja to Romania. Army limited to 25k.

The US definitely wouldn’t join with France given that the whole conflict over what side to join stemmed from the sizeable German speaking minority in the US at the time. Whether they join the war or not that would be interesting to see how an Anglo-German America would change culture in the US. Maybe the French speaking minorities in Louisiana and New England are the culture censored?

That is a curbstomp battle right there. They wouldn't really have a balanced opponent unless the US is on the other side byt I don't see why theyd involve themselves against that. Thats about as one sided as it can be. Post war is where things get interesting.

last time those three teamed up would have been the Napoleonic wars

really you need a block of power:

so here is a semi plausible list:

• France
• Austria-Hungary
• Denmark
• Ottoman Empire
• Italy ( potential, but this would require concessions to get them on the team by France and Austria-Hungary - doable but eh...

Reasoning would be that France, Austria and Denmark all got their butts handed to them by the Prussia/Germany
Ottomans could join in on the French side since Russia is a natural enemy, and if they are promised something in return in the Balkans or elsewhere

So who would they be fighting against?

• The United Kingdom
• Russian Empire
• German Empire
• Potentials - Netherlands
• Greece - Not big fans of the Ottomans
• Serbia - Not big fans of Austria and the Ottomans
• Romania could flip either way - suffice to say but who knows - however it would be beneficial to the French if they joined on the French side, that said . its going to get ugly quickly for them
• Bulgaria - not big fans of the Ottomans

Outlayers

Spain - might join with france ( but I doubt it - nothing to gain but more ruin )
Norway - more apt to join Brits and Germany
Sweden - More apt to join the brits and germans
Portugal- Nothing to gain - more pat to stay natural - but if pressed - would side with the brits

United States of America - tough call, but in this case - more apt to side with the brits and Germans -
they could also take Greenland and iceland
if they did join with the French I don't think it would make much of a difference for the French led group.

Mexico - they are gonna sit this out

Canada - the brits

Japan or China - not sure if they get involved - but I could see Japan taking a stab at French indo china and other French possessions


Question is what triggers this weird ass alignment

• Russia gets its gains against the Ottomans
• Greece gets theirs

• Serbia gets theirs

• Franco-Austrian War doesn't happen and Austria becomes slightly stronger. France and Austria become allies. Following this, Germany allies with Russia against Austria and a failure of the Anglo-French detente could lead to an Anglo-German alliance, ultimately creating a Triple Entente with Russia, Germany and Britain.

• Maybe Francis Joseph dies early while Rudolph does not commit suicide, then Austria-Hungary under him might align itself with France? Colonial affairs with France and Britain become more hostile and forces Britain to tend to the German-Russian side over the Franco-Austrian side. War happens earlier, maybe in the 1890s or 1900s, because the colonial conflicts during that time were still fresh, and this would be before the populations in Germany and Austria can do something about the diplomatic hostilities between their countries by pressuring their governments.

I think you'd just need a way to get France to really piss Britain off and I think the best way of doing that would be to make France stronger in some way, making the colonial conflicts between the two more tense. Add closer relations between France and Austria-Hungary, then we could see Russia and Germany getting pissed off at A-H, and Britain, Russia and Germany end up having closer relations due to them having common enemies.
Oh, and the British-German-Russian Alliance would absolutely destroy the French-Austrian-Ottoman Alliance, no contest. Absolutely no way the other side would win that, ever.

If there were an alliance like that, France wouldn't dare go to war against them. Napoleon had been dead for almost a century. (And after all, even he ultimately lost to them....)
