From the replies I got, I can see the posters
on this board think it would have no differ-
ence @ all as both Lucas Films & Marvel
Studios are owned by Disney. It's entirely
understandable to see why people have this
conception- but it's a mistaken conception.
SEE an excellent video on YOU TUBE "Marvel
v LucasFilm: A Tale Of Two Studios" by Mr.
MediaGrade. It points out that, yes, Disney
does have the same rules in place for both studios, does lay down certain lines that
neither can go beyond. But within this framework, both studios are given consid-
erable autonomy. I think this is pretty obvious if you look @ the differing quality of
the films they turn out. (And I wasn't even thinking of comparing TLJ with INFINITY WARS). OR look @ their different attitudes towards their scripts. As I've posted above, Marvel Studios will not greenlight a picture until they feel the script for it has had its problems ironed out. Lucas Films,by contrast, had no qualms about putting on the screen two SW movies done by two dif-
ferent directors with two completely different
visions of what SW is about. The resulting inconsistencies- & problems- did not seem to
be of the least concern to LF.
I could go on, but I think by now everyone
has gotten my point. If MS indeed had ac-
quoted SW in 2012, it would indeed have
made for a considerable difference. So I'd
like to ask again- can anyone figure out a
way MS, not LF, would have acquired SW in
2012? (And please ignore the Thread title
saying WI SW sold to Marvel, not Disney-
my mistake)
