AHC: Have Germany unite under the elector of Hanover

So after George I becomes the king of England have Germany unite with the Elector of Hannover as the Kaiser. Preferably with the inheritance laws matching up with England's so there won't be any unfortunate splits. (So basically a dual Brit/Germanwank)

For bookkeeping the Reich should have at least 80% of the land considered German (which land I don't care. Austria is fine in or out of Germany). Dates don't really matter other than earlier is better as long as its after the House of Hanover becoming king of England. And it should preferably be fairly stable with little unrest and the monarch being fluent in both English and German.

Let's go with a Victoria-dies-early scenario. Ernest Augustus and George V go for a kind of uber-Grossdeutschland including Germany, Britain and possibly Austria, Scandinavia and the Netherlands (in theory). George V joins the Austro-Prussian War on the Austrian side as OTL, but in this case he spins it to Britain that the UK has interests in the restriction of Prussia. Supposing EA is as autocratic as he is made out to be, he may have built up enough royal power in a kind of Tory Ascendancy of the mid-19th century, but that's unlikely - anyway, Britain are convinced to become policemen of Europe.

In this case, the defeat of Austria doesn't really matter because the cavalry are coming - Britain blockades Prussian-aligned ports and uses Hannover as a springboard for a campaign. As British land troops are more of a match for the Prussians than the Austrians are, they stand a good chance of a) keeping Bavaria, Wurttemberg, Hesse and Baden in the fight, and b) cutting off the Westphalian portion of Prussia, to be annexed in the peace settlement. Saxony may also join the new 'West German Confederation', along with a few Thuringian states, while I'd expect Hohenzollern and Oldenburg would go with Prussia as sops to their dignity (Oldenburg is also an outlet on the North Sea, so it isn't all bad for the victors of Koniggratz)

Austria having forfeited all street cred, Britain-Hannover takes the lead in proposing an alternative to Prussian hegemony. For an encore, the Netherlands could be won by marriage further down the line. As for stability, that all depends on how this Gross-Grossdeutschland thing pans out. There's going to be rematches all the time with either Prussia or Austria, or both, the British public will be yearning to go back to their splendid isolation and empire-building, and the rest of Europe will definitely see GREAT Britain as a threat, not least the French. *Fashoda might flare or something; the important thing is that the balance of power is fucked, and a German nation-state is as distant as ever.
