AHC: Have Canada support the USA in the War of 1812

It's an improbable outcome, but we have AHCs for a reason. I'm not sure what those reasons are, but anyway. It was a common belief in the United States, I believe, that the Canadians(and the Canadiens) would greet the Americans as liberators. How would you make the Canadians (and the Canadiens) support the American mission of removing British control over Canada and instead have American control over Canada (or at least, reparations for the press of American merchants and the lessening of trade restrictions)? Could this turn the tide in the War, or was it doomed anyway? Would any of this be even possible?

Easy , the British exile their worst Goverment officials to Canada where they proceed to screw up Canada and royally piss off the Canadians.

Common but stupid; in particular, large numbers of Anglo-Canadians were folks from the 13 Colonies that had been Loyalists in the Revolutionary War (probably an absolute majority, though censuses weren't great).

The Canadian colonies would need to be very badly administered, badly enough for descendants of American political refugees to want conquest from the United States. The possibility of this is not one I would care to rate highly.
