AHC: Have at least one central American country rejoin Mexico after seceding

Maybe America stays weak/weaker, and doesn't expand West/annex Mexican territory. If Mexico can hang on to the north and stabilise/prosper to become a regional power, this may be possible. Maybe Mexico just reconquests some of Central America, through military or economic force, or they build and control a canal in a central american country, and a resultant influx of Mexican immigrants could help push that country to rejoin Mexico (demographic shifts lead to them becoming Mexican)... This could be helped also by Mexico taking up some sort of Pan-Latin Americanism ideology thing possibly...

After 1860, maybe the U.S. civil war goes terribly wrong for the Union, leading to a breakup of the Union (though this would likely need foriegn intervention, which the British didn't much want) though this could just lead to French Dominated Mexico rather than a comparitively better off Mexico...

Also, while not being itself a country, Chiapas (or part of it at least) I believe was for a time Central American rather than Mexican. And if modern day Mexico itsself is considered Central American, the Republic of Rio Grande may qualify for this, though I don't think they were recognised by anybody...

Have yucatan briefly succeed in seceding, then have mexico take it back after nasty civil war.

Otl, the fighting was often three sided, iirc, criollos vs mayans vs mexicans.

This is already OTL in a way. The Criollos succeeded in seceding, the Maya rebelled later, then the Maya did good enough that the criollos panicked and offered to sign away their sovereignty to whoever helped them first, and Mexico responded.

The Captain-Generalcy of Guatemala remained loyal to Mexico City under the empire of Iturbide, and only declared independence once he was overthrown.
