AHC: Have a Sectarian, Christian Japan

Set up the conditions for Japan to become by the end of the Sengoku period a Christian country, with either a Catholic or Calvinist majority, but a significant minority of the other existing (has to be at least 1/3 Catholic or 1/3 Calvinist.)

Ex: 2/3's Calvinist and 1/3 Catholic.

Suring the ambush at honnoji Oda Nobunaga on the verge of commiting suicide is stopped for a moment by a being of shining light upon its chest is a Christian cross, he loses consciousness and when he awakens he is riding away with his son Nobutada and his african retainer Yosuki, they manage to get to safety to a nearby castle where they hold up waiting for Hideyoshi, he conferred with Yasuke and his son about his vision, but Yasuke advices Nobunaga caution not to take on Christianity wholeheartedly and advices moderation due to his own experiences with Christianity(which was bad considering he was a slave to a Christian missionary really makes you jaded) Nobutada is just glad his father is alive.

Days later Hideyoshi arrives and announces that due to services rendered to Clan Oda and risking life and limb to save his life Nobunaga publicly raises Yasuke as a Samurai.

During a pivotal battle between Akechi and Nobunaga, he and his generals with Yasuke being his constant shadow bear witness to a meteor breaking up in atmosphere and forming a cross shape in the sky, one of the more learned samurai mentioned the story of Constantine the great, Yasuke is asked privately for his advice and cautions Nobunaga from turning into a Christian Fanatic, In response Nobunaga has a new Sashimono banner made only for himself with a Stylised cross and in the phrase “with this symbol You shall conquer.

The best way for Japan to become Christian is to have the Emperor, Shogun, and other important political/military leaders converting to Christianity, and then enforcing it as a state religion. The dominant sect would most likely be Catholicism, given the presence of Portuguese and Spanish missionaries in Asia (and Catholic missionaries were responsible for converting some Japanese in the OTL). The most likely result of having a Christian government would be a mass conversion of the Shinto-Buddhist majority at swordpoint. So, basically the exact opposite of what happened in real life, with a mass persecution of the Christian minority by a government which feared foreign influences subverting their authority.

How would a Catholic Shogun and a Shinto-Buddhist Emperor pan out?

How would a Catholic Shogun and a Shinto-Buddhist Emperor pan out?
Badly because a Christian shogun will(depending on dedication may refuse to acknowledge the emperor’s divinity) and will totally upend Japanese tradition in the process, now if it was more secular, he would still acknowledge the emperor as divine in public BUT in private he can do his own religious practices(out of sight, out of mind) the same way that past Japanese prime ministers were Christians in different denominations.
