AHC: Greek or Roman Arabia

prhaps ghassanids defeat the arabic muslim forces thus having a Christian ghassanid which is greatly influenced by ERE surviving. After all at this point the ere can be considered still the roman empire.

Didnt Alexander the great plan to conquer Arabia before he died...
Have him live a bit longer and conquer the Arabian peninsula. The results would be interesting with Arabic and Greek languages mixing.

Well having a Greek Arabia is simple. Have Alexander live a little longer. He was about to go on campaign in Arabia when he fell ill and soon died.

As for a Roman Arabia, I remember hearing somewhere about an attempted Roman campaign in the region.

Okay, after looking it up on google, I found it. It was the Aelius Gallus expedition from 26-24 BC. Gallus was the praefect of Egypt.

According to Wikipedia, " His expedition to Arabia Felix, of which an account is given by his friend[citation needed] Strabo,[3] as well as by Cassius Dio[4] and Pliny the Elder[5][6] turned out to be a complete failure."

So, to have a Roman arabia, have it succeed. Or have Augustus or someone else feel it necessesary to go into Arabia.

Also, the Romans had a province called Arabia Petraea.

Do you mean all of Arabia or just part? Because frankly I doubt even Alexander could effectively conquer the Nejd.

When the Romans attempted to conquer Arabia, the Mecca region was ruled by a kinsman of the Nabataean king. It was only the treachery of Syllaeus (Syllaios) which delayed the Roman expedition and cost the Romans many men, forcing them to turn back only a few days journey from the "aromatic regions".
