AHC: Great Britain has a TL-191-esque government

In Timeline 191 after Britain loses World War I, democracy falls apart and extreme nationalism takes it's place. A right wing coalition between Winston Churchill's Conservatives and Oswald Mosely's Silver Shirts takes over the government and Britain becomes more authoritarian, with the Silver Shirts exerting a great deal of influence over the Conservatives.

So, what would need to happen for a right-wing coalition like this to take shape in Britain during the early 20th Century? It doesn't have to be as a result of them losing World War I or involve Oswald Mosely, but I am curious as to what some people come up with.

Defeat in ww1 would get it started n then add a different General Strike in 1926 might get you there

You wouldent get Churchill the Conservative, but I think you best bet is to have the "Plot Against Ulster" actually be a serious conspiracy in the upper echelons of the pre-war Liberal government and have the attempted effort to stage a fait accompli against the die-hard Unionists (Who had already formed an alliance with the Comservatives) by staging a rapid deployment into Ulster to secure the local weapons supply and disarm the UDF go belly up. The fortress garrisons and military police refuse to follow orders and cooperate with the Ulstermen once word gets out. Churchill makes some slip ups in a speech that tips off the Unionists something is coming so they can rapidly respond. Have the officers that threatened to resign en-mass actually do so and join up with their fellow Empire Pariots "who's sole crime is loyalty to King and Country" to give them the veneer and start of proper military organization.

As a result, large chunks of the top of the Liberal leadership is caught up in what amounts to treason scandle and the party starts falling apart from lack of direction and defections. Have the added bonus of the rest of Ireland flare up in violence, and I could see a Conservative government with a DECISIVE majority who uses it to start pushing protectionist/Imperial Centeralisation policies again and aligns civilian policy closer to that of the Brass, but if (likely when) Catholic/Communist Irish Terrorism comes to England as a result of outrage by the failed Nationalists you could see marshal law declared for the island and paramilitary Home Guard units "promoted" to help keep the peace.

Ironically, this likly keeps Britain out of the war, but I think that's better for British Fascism, to be honest. They get to keep the full might of and confidence in the Empire and no sense they've become at least somewhat dependent on America, as well as less distinct national spirits in the Domains, but still keep the threat of the Hun knocking at the door.
