AHC Get all of the British new world colonies and to join the American Revolution

British_America.png

From My cursory research on Wikipedia (I and Wikipedia) could be wrong it seems that all of the colonies had significant British population by 1776. also What the repercussions be for the slave vs free state balance, relations with natives, European powers, and neighbors how much more expansionist would this America be, reaction towards independence movements such as Mexico, Haiti, and Gran Colombia, and attitudes towards immigrants?

For one thing, you'd have to figure out a way to make the American colonists much less anti-catholic. This attitude did not go down
well with many Canadians, & helped con-
vince them to stay with Britain.

well the British government could have been more antagonistic to the french Canadians.

Do the French Canadians have to end up joining the U.S.?
It could be worth encouraging a separate rebellion to give the British something else to deal with, and also perhaps as part of the payment for French help.

That is what Benedict Arnold was doing in the North - he was marching into Canada with hopes to bring them in. He was unsuccessful. He asked congress to try to do it again. Then some idiot in the Continental Congress decided to pass him over for promotion selecting a man he believed was incompetent (George Washington), Benedict Arnold changed sides and the rest is history.

One way of doing so is to simply replace Guy Carleton as Governor of Quebec with another that just antagonize the Canadiens enough that they join the Revolution too. In fact, @Glen's TL (the D.S.A.) actually had him swap roles with Josiah Martin (our world's governor of North Carolina during this time)

Too right, Gian!

Some of those little dots on VaultJumper's map may look unimpressive. Still, if the islands become part of the United States, everything changes in American history.

With the suggested arrangement, the United States becomes more involved with slavery. Britain loses some very profitable colonies, especially in the Caribbean.

Maybe Alexander Hamilton becomes President of the United States.

Napoleon may view the Americans as a threat. In which case, he may never sell Louisiana to the USA. Or he may embrace the Yanks as friends. Maybe he'll sell Haiti to the Americans. If the Americans are already in the area and they're defending sugar plantations and slavery, why not sell them Haiti and a few other islands? (What's the alternative?)

The United States Navy and the Marines become very important, at an early date. While looking to the West for national expansion, the Americans will also look to the Caribbean and even to Latin American.

Texas will attract a lot of American settlers, regardless of what happens in New Orleans.

Canada? Lots of Yanks will move into Ontario, and they'll continue to move to the West, all the way to the Pacific. There won't be much resistance (aside from some natives who won't have British support.)

By 1850, the United States will probably control all of the land that we identify with Canada. It's possible that the Americans will control Alaska. They will probably control Washington and Oregon.

Big questions: Who controls California and the American Southwest? What happens, if the Louisiana Purchase doesn't develop?
