AHC get a Christian Turk become emperor of the Byzantine empire

Alright fellow AH members here is a challenge with a POD after the 10th century find a way to get a Turk to become emperor and create a lasting Turkish dynasty that is orthodox....

Hey yeah I guess John Komnenos the fat succeeds. He is half Turkish but still partly a turk. Anyway how would otl go if he did become
emperor. Maybe he could put an end to the disastros reign of angeloi and salvage something.

Maybe. Couldn't really do much worse than they did.

I had it happen in my TL Broken Crescent (1). Emperor Leo VIII is only a quarter Greek. His grandfather, John II, is of Greek descent and married Harika of Antioch, the daughter of a Cuman chieftain. One of his sons, Manuel, married Sophia/Zufiya of Sinope, a daughter of a Seljuk chieftain that had emigrated to Anatolia post-Manzikert.

Leo is nominally a Christian and refers to himself as one.

There was an ATL where someone made Ertuğrul a subject of the Byzantine Empire and his family became emperors eventually.
