AHC: Gengis Khans Empire survives

So basically the Empire assembled by Genghis Khan is kept under one government for at least 300 years. That is the challenge. Extra points if you can get the Empire to last until modern day.

Impossible. You could get it to be one empire under multiple governments (Golden Horde, Ilkhanate, Chagatai, Yuan), but one empire with one government for 300 years--even with Mongol innovations in communication and warfare, it's far from feasible.

I meant one state, recognized as one state. Surviving under at least 3 heads of state, so thats its butterflies are quite large.

Mongols warriors. Mongols not governors. Mongols weaken. They fall. Everybody sad. Except for China.

:p

Well actually, keeping Genghis Khan's empire, that is, just all of center-west and center-east Asia, together is pretty easy. Much easier than keeping Mongol Empire at its height together.

It is possible if they never expanded or failed to expand after the conquests of Genghis Khan.

It would help if they would have more manpower for their horse warriors or at least to master the consistent advance of weaponry technology to be able to counter the Russian colonial advance/Cossack adventurers from mid 16. cent onwards.

Cavalry armies can really only be so big. I don't think that the Mongols could support any more horses, though they could probably take as many armies as long as they want.

One Gurps AE TL suggested that the lesser khans are rotated every few years to prevent them building a powerbase and seceding. Might work, but has other disadvantages.
