In India, it seems the French had a quite competent governor in the person of Joseph François Dupleix (1693-1763) who was Governor of French India from 1742 to 1754. He was a rival of Robert Clive and quite competent, but the French recalled him because they hoped it would help secure peace with Britain... Of course, this didn't work very well.
Maybe if Dupleix were to stay in India, the French could keep their possessions there if not expand them. Dupleix was apparently looking to expand French influence in Southern India.
New France is another problem. The French didn't have much faith in that colony and didn't really care for it (they were more interested in Sugar Islands). However, I wonder what the consequences of a defeat of General Wolf rather than a Victory would have for New France.
With Wolf defeated, the French might keep New France longer, but I doubt they would extend it. Basically, they considered New France a large and useless swath of land.
The survival of New France and French India would be what I consider a French Victory in the French and Indian War. Or at least a draw.
