AHC: European Monarchies become Republics, and vice versa

With the PODs anytime you want, make one timeline where in the present day, Spain, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Luxembourg, Great Britain, and Belgium are Republics, while Italy, France, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Russia, Portugal, Austria, Poland, Finland, and Germany are Monarchies.

(multiple bonus points if there are Liechtenstein, Andorra, and Vatican City as Republics, and San Marino as a Monarchy)

For Italy, Charles Albert of Piedmont die in a hunt accident and a more conservative and less political savy heir take is place, so in 1848 Mazzini (and Garibaldi) succesfully led the national uprising uniting at least North Italy plus great part of Center Italy forming the basis for the Italian republic who in later years unify the rest of Italy.

So long and thank you for the fish

Austria isn't difficult, either; have Franz Josef off the throne earlier.

Now, with Germany, I think that a WWI analogue with an unconditional surrender rather than an armistice will help its monarchies survive.

The difficult is ensuring the outgrowth of the OTL European states in such a scenario; a surviving Habsburg monarchy won't be balkanized the way it was in OTL for one.

First, Great Britain isn't a country. I suppose you are referring to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland..:p
Second, I doubt it's possible for the Vatican to be a republic. It just doesn't work with them. Andorra is easy enough I suppose.

Do the countries have to be in their current form i.e does Germany can include pre-WW1 territories? Or could you make a Republic of Scotland and that would count? Or a disunited Italy?

Yes indeed, your Imperial and Royal Highness... ;)

All of the things that you mentioned above are allowed.

Sweden isnt that hard. 1718, 1809, 1917 and 1973 are all years when the nobility(1718 and 1809) or the common people led by Socialdemocrats(1900s) could have abolished the monarchy

The big difficulty is getting Britain to go republican, but keeping France Monarchist. The most likely spot for the British to drop the monarchy is the 1830s with the Great Reform Act, but William IV was in favour of that anyway (he essentially told the Tories 'stop blocking it or I'll flood the House of Lords with Liberals and you'll have no influence left).

The problem then is that when in his reformist moods, much of the ideas for liberalisation of the monarchy by Napoleon III or Louis-Philippe were based to a large degree on the British model, and if that's shown to have failed, we get more repressive regimes which look likely to fall as OTL.

Why the French couldn't take the ideas from anywhere else? Or make them by themselves?

Well, there were the Scandinavian monarchies, but they were very much minor powers. Essentially Britain proved it could work and have the nation be/remain a world power. Napoleon III was quite liberal at heart, but the business of the coup that led to his coronation meant that he felt that reforms would have to wait until his son's reign (he was planning on abdicating in 1874 so that Napoleon IV could reign for this reason). France might be able to stay out of trouble enough to prevent the monarchy collapsing till then, but if Germany's looking to united then there's quite a strong likelyhood that something similar to 1870 could be on the cards.

Maybe a CP victory WWI could have this. France could go for a Orleans or Bonapartist restoration, while the British could have a Communist revolution and later mellow a bit.
