AHC: establish "dynastic cycles" in Europe, similar to that of China

In China, dynasties are quite recognisable as the product of the previous dynasty; they also arise from similar regions.

How can the same be for Europe? My basic get was:

1. Roman Empire
2. Byzantine Empire
3. Arabian Empire
4. Spanish Empire
....and so on.

(the challenge is not to place dynasties in similar places but to make these empires be typically seen as direct successors/predecessors of each other.)

cThe Roman Empire already had quite the dynastic cycle. take the Nervan-Antotine dynasty. they rose to power, prospered, then collapsed to a new dynasty after a bad ruler.

Didn't this basically happen with the Roman Empire ~ Byzantine Empire ~ Russian Empire and/or Seljuks & Ottomans...?
It doesn't offer the same connotation, what with the drastic shifts in language and culture.

Perhaps one of the Capets is able to become Holy Roman Emperor, so it remains seen as more of a Europe-wide thing than just a German thing?
