AHC: Entire Mediterranean gets invaded

A war against an the alliance of the Ottoman's Babary States,Austria,France,Spain and the Italian state-lets?

See but that would likely only result in one half being invaded.
Unless one side is totally successful for the first few years, and then the other side totally reverses the tide and occupies the other half.

Though when posting the challenge I was thinking of one power outside of the Mediterranean or with just a small coast there, invading the sea.

Are you talking like something out of the Cold War? The Soviet Navy smashes through Turkey and starts terrorizing the whole sea?
Something to that effect.

Or the first industrial power in an ATL, with a very early POD, invades a stagnant Caliphate/Roman Empire.

If that's the case, then the Arabs already did it. They were a lot more successful on the southern shores of the sea and the islands than they were further north (not counting Iberia).

Well, that was more than one war. By the time they were invading the rest of the Mediterranean, they already had more than half of it.

Define 'the Entire Mediterranean'. The Second World War had operations of various sorts, many of them invasions, taking place in North Africa (the Italians, 8th Army, Afrika Korps, and later Torch), Gibraltar (Vichy France), the South of France (Operation: Dragoon and the Fall of France), Italy (by the Allies), the Balkans (by the Axis then Allies), the Dodecanese (by the British), Greece (by Italy, Germany, and later the Allies), Malta (repeated Axis bombings), Spain (by the Republicans)... everywhere but Turkey. (At least, as far as I know.)
