AHC: Elect a 'Doctor Who' for Prime Minister

The challenge I propose is to make the trajectory of one of the actors who played the Doctor (including some non-canons like Scream of the Shalka, 1960s Movies, Curse of Fatal Death, etc.) to be, somehow, elected PM with PoDs after 1963.

[PS: Bonus for whoever does the 'Doctor-PM' after the actor interprets the Doctor]
[PS2: The actors who performed the Master are also included]

Ohh Yes.

Jon Pertwee Labour Majority 1978-1983

Pertwee's popularity as DW continues long after he leaves the role in '74. His strong stance on public morals reinforced by his portrayal as the Doctor is seen by many as a symbol of stability in a fractious UK

Persuaded to stand in Walsall North to succeed John Stonehouse in 1976, Petwee proves to be a skilled politician. Jim Callaghan suffers a heart attack in February 1978 and retires from politics. Pertwee is asked to stand as a compromise candidate and wins in the first round. In October' 78 Labour wins an overall majority.

After winning a second election in 1982 Pertwee announces his intention to retire. His appearance in DW "The Five Doctors" is broadcast on the same week he resigns as both PM and MP.
