It's always seemed odd to me that feminism took such a long time to develop IOTL, especially given how many pro-women's-rights writers of both genders there have been historically. What's the earliest possible time at which a large-scale movement for the equality (or at least expanded rights) of women can develop? What's the earliest time at which such a movement can succeed? Of course, the answers to these last two questions may be different.
