AHC: Earlier "Saudi Arabia"

During the decline of the Abbasid Caliphate, Arabia proper lost much military and economic significance in the Middle East, though it retained religious importance. The peninsula was not united again for a long time.

This remained the case until the rise of the Saudi Emirate of Diriyah in the 1700s, the first state in centuries to unite the bulk of Arabia.

Would it have been possible for a state conquer Hejaz, Najd, and al-Ahsa to appear centuries before OTL, and if so, how early could such a state appear? The House of Saud does not have to be involved.

One could argue that the Qarmatians achieved this during their wars with the Abbasid. After this point, there is no real candidate in the Nejd to unite and the powers beyond are too powerful to allow such a state to be formed. The best possibility is a Qarmatian wank, perhaps with a complete destruction of the Abbasid throne and the allowance thus of the Qarmatians to further consolidate its power in Arabia and up into Syria and Iraq.
