AHC :David Cameron ,leader of the Labour Party

As the title says - with a POD of no later than his birth in 1966 and changing events not relating to his personal life as little as possible how could David Cameron end up with the Labour leadership? From what I can tell he was generally apolitical (but certainly Conservative leaning) until his University days so I think the necessary POD would have to be there. Perhaps he visits some old mining town and has a Damascene Conversion?
Yes it's true that his background means that he's likely to end up being a Tory but the same could be said of Blair. Given his general level of talent I could see him becoming as big a player as he did in the Conservative party. And since he had a generally positive opinion of Blair in OTL I could see him maybe taking on a role as Blair's protege. Perhaps he could take David Miliband's place as the darling of the Blairites?
Anyway what do you lot think? Could an Eton boy make it to the top of the working man's party? Would he be doomed to battle it out with David Davis?

80's Labour, and even 90's Labour is a bit hard to get Cameron on board for, especially as he'd be seen as little more than a champagne socialist. The LibDem's or SDP would be easier for him to get into and become leader of, Labour being a bridge to far without radically different upbringing or teenage-hood.

But yeah, one PoD you can have for him drifting away from the Tories is Cameron being kicked out of Eton for smoking Cannabis (as he near was IoTL) and drifting away from the Party without all the doors Eton opened for him (such as his position as the Chancellors SPaD). I cant' really connect the dots for you.
