AHC: Dan Snyder not owner of the Washington Redskins

Since I'm seeing a few threads about spherical football, let's make a thread about spheroid football!

Basically, if you follow American football, you might be aware that Dan Snyder is widely considered one of the worst owners in the NFL, alongside Mike Brown of Cincinnati and Al Davis of Oakland. His MO has been to spend loads of money on over the hill free agents and trade draft picks like candy.

So, what POD could prevent Dan Snyder from owning the team?

Bonus points if you can make the Redskins a viable, quality franchise like they were in the 80s.

Snyder and his associates bought the club for a record $800 million; I was going to suggest that Bush Sr. is re-elected President, it gets his son interested in the NFL somehow,a nd he sells the Texas Rangers (baseball) and buys them, but I don't know if he'd have enough.

Donald Trump? Would it be before his money problems? Probably, I'm thinking they were more witht he real estate bubble. Perhaps more success witht he USFL's Generals gets him interested in the NFL.

Of course, I'm not sure how much better Trump would be, now that I think about it, he might want that same flashy style.

Well, prior to his establishment of Snyder Communications LP in 1988, just about every company he ever started went belly-up for one reason or another. It was Snyder Communications that made it possible for him to rack up enough cash to buy the ownership of the 'Skins. So if that company goes bust too-- say, between 1990 and 1992 --that pretty much pulls the plug on his NFL aspirations, since in OTL it took until 1999 for him to get the money to acquire a controlling interest in the team.

Cooke

I think that Jack Kent Cooke didn't prepare his son to take over the team well enough, or he didn't will it to him, or something like that.
