AHC: Communist Israel

With a POD no later than 1991,makes Israel into a Communist state. Please also refers to the following areas: Quality of life, foreign relations, branch of communism in Israel (i.e. Marxism-Leninism,Hoaxism).

Why would there be Hoxhaism in Israel, or anywhere else outside of Albania? I could see a communist Israel as an ally of the USSR.

Unless something happens after Israel's founding that compells David Bengurion to hold onto to power longer and for Labor to literally crushing right wing opposition (Likud, maybe from violent sectarian response to Atlena incident?) while embracing communist elements (Maki)making him a kind of Tito Broz figure (Titoism?), anything later would be absolutely ASB if not what I already mentioned.

While socialism is possible, communism implies atheism which seems impossible due to the implied Jewish nature of the state Israel and the Islamic nature of the region.

There's simply no plausible butterfly possible to achieve this and therefor i believe this is best located in ASB. The only possible way to achieve this is by erasing Islam, Judism and forth Christianity from history.

Could be if the Altalena incident was a bit worse. Many in Israel stilll holds Rabin and Ben Gurion as war criminals due to that incident.

Not quite as Maoism did aim to create Communism with a kind of Chinese character (with its focus on agrarian/peasant reform). So could Israel be communist with a political Jewish/Zionist streak? Of course like China an absolute communist spirit would not last long among the party's top echelon.

Anything after 1991 is pure ASB as politics in Israel, if not the world (or especially the US and diaspora) would not allow it. It was also the height of their tech bubble so global finance (ie capitalism) was serving to help finance the state's infastructure (such as the expansion of Highway 1 into a true 8 lane thoroughfare to solve real traffic problems).

I have to disagree as the initial Zionist settlers were very anatgonistic to Judaism going so far as to forbid religious Jews from Kibbutz membership 9unless of course said kibbutz was religious, yes, there are religious Kibbutzim). And both the PLO and the Israeli pbulic had pro Communist segments (like the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Maki and later Rakah).

I agree. Maybe if the United States chooses to continue to support the Arab states instead of being the first to recognize Israel, then the alliance between the two never occurs. The Soviets then somehow manage to lure the Israelis to be an ally in the region, and Labour Zionism becomes the predominant political force.

This could have interesting repercussions on the Arab World, as progressive forces may be more open to look to the United States as emulation, instead of the socialist model of the Soviets.

Op says no LATER than. Ie before.

I made the same mistake.

Its almost impossible with any pod, and certainly asb after about 1960.

Doesn't change the fact that Judaism is part of their cultural heritage. Even if the initial settlers were antagonistic, then this doesn't mean a complete cultural heritage can/will be erased.

If anything once the number of settlers grows, it is more likely that they will cling to their common heritage. As i said earlier, i don't see a way for a communist Israel without erasing Judaism (and with it Christianity) and Islam.
